Your job as a ministry?? Hmm…
If you are a christian who is into missionary and evangelism, you would probably heard of the 10/40 window which extends from West Africa across Asia. But 9-5 window? Well, it is something new — at least to me.
2 weeks ago, I decided to start a Morning Devotion group in my office since there are handful of us Christians working there. And the response I got is that they prefer it once a week rather than everyday. So, we have decided it on Friday. Then, later I realised that I dont really have any suitable materials to share with the group. I casually pray about it (as in didnt really put alot of time praying on this matter) and last week, I received an email inviting me to attend this 9-5 Window seminar at Glad Tidings Church.
I was kinda sceptical at first because there are so many of these modern neo-evangelism movement and it is held at a charismatic church. Well, for a start I really enjoyed the worship session. All the songs sang on that day were from my OCF days!! Haha! It really brought back alot of good old memories where I was so motivated to serve God that time. And the seminar was an eye-opener.
Os Hillman (the speaker) talked about how faith can transformed the workplace and how christians who spends 60-70% of their waking hours in office, like the rest of the ppl, can use their work as a ministry rather than just a "job" . It emphasis on living for a greater cause rather than just a normal day-to-day work. I personally think it was a great seminar where it educates Christians to view their job from a Godly perspective. I came out from the seminar, thinking how can I make the best of my current job so that I can be a blessings to my collegues around me. It shall be a good experiment to start tomorrow
So, I m ending this entry with a verse from the Bible :-
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phillipians 4:13

Even though I do not know what you’re thinking, I’ll still pray for you, guidance and strength. God knows your love for him, always remember that, never over-burn yourself. God bless!
Psalm 139:1-4
O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising; thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
ah gan….i think it’s a good to think of work place and work time as an extension of ur ministry. Many times, u might just be the only christian that ur colleague know…
Thanks, guys! –for reading my boring blog
Haha!
Just want to say I will write more
Hahahaaa!! And it is really funny reading both of your comments because they were such a contrast. One is so serious, the other one so light-hearted.
Anyway, thanks again. Will keep the suggestions in mind
ah gan,
i just finished work, tired, hungry, and a bit hard to think of serious stuff…. — maybe shows that my mind sudah stop working!
Let us armed ourselves with the armour of God and the armour of light and fight the battle of darkness!
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Ephesians 6:14-17
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Romans 13:12
God help me!!!
